Spades Queen is a brand new online gambling house and sportsbook. The company behind it is arguably one of the biggest casino operators nowadays. It is called Dama N.V., and has been behind countless casinos we've covered so far. So, we can say that we have some pretty major expectations going into this casino.
And it did manage to live up to most of them. For instance, it has a pretty decent range of games. There are over 10 000 different titles that you can play. We also like that there is a mascot to the casino – the titular Queen of Spades. This mascot has the bonuses tied around her, and that's nice. We love it when casinos try and engage the player with such narratives.
However, there are a lot of disappointments with the casino, too. Its payment methods were just not enough in our view, for instance. That said, the conditions around these payment methods themselves were actually decent enough.
Overall, Spades Queen seems like a bit of a mixed bad. Let's take a closer look at the casino, so we can tell whether it lives up to the prestigious name of Dama N.V.:
Bonuses
The casino has a fine enough range of bonuses, but neither their quantity, nor their quality is enough to impress. There is a pretty decent Welcome package, followed by a single Reload bonus. There is a single Cashback promotion. The house also features two different Loyalty bonuses, too. Here's an outline of all of the promotions with the house:
Bonus | Min deposit | Max bonus | Wagering requirements | Cash out limit |
Queen's Welcome Bonus | $20 | 100% up to $10000 | 40x | $10000 |
Queen's Mystery Welcome bonus | $20 | 100% up to $500 + 100 spins | 40x | $10000 |
Queen's Daily Cashback | - | 10% | 3x | $10000 |
Weekly Queen's Mystery | $20 | $2000 + 200 spins | 10x | $10000 |
Queen's Challenges | - | $9000 + 5000 spins | 40x | $10000 |
Loyalty program | - | Unspecified | - | $10000 |
Before we cover them, we should mention that any bonus you can get from the house has a cash out limit of $10 000. This means any winnings over that will simply be written off by the house. By itself, there's nothing wrong with setting such limits. But it does make the initial deposit bonus somewhat less attractive. Let's go over this bonus so we can show you what we mean by that:
- The Queen's Welcome Bonus is the initial promotion you can get from the casino. It adds 100% of your initial deposit, as long as said deposit is over $20. Generally speaking, these bonuses are the the biggest ones you can expect to get from casinos. And Spades Queen has gone all out too, with a massive maximum bonus amount of $10 000. However, given the fact that this is just as much as the maximum cash out limit, the promotion will not actually allow you to win anything over this said maximum amount.Furthermore, to cash out anything from it, you need to clear the wagering requirement. That kind of requirement is very common nowadays and just signifies how many times you need to play through a bonus in order to be able to withdraw it. Pretty much any casino has it. Here, it is set to 40x, which is fair enough. But it does feel bad to do all that wagering and not be able to cash out anything over the initial bonus amount.
- After you are done with the previous bonus, you can get the Queen's Mystery welcome bonus. This is the second part of the initial deposit promotions, and it has drastically different conditions to the first. In fact, this second bonus allows you to pick what you want to claim. You can either get 100 Free Spins, or another 100% bonus up to $500. The minimum deposit requirement is the same as before – just $20. This is fair enough. Additionally, it has a reasonable 40x wagering requirement, which is competitive. And given its significantly smaller size, the cash out limit is not an issue here. Overall, there isn't much else to talk about with this promotion, it is fairly standard.
Once you have claimed the two Welcome Bonuses you will be able to start getting the rest of the promotions of the casino. Here's what they look like:
- There is the Queen's Daily Cashback. This promotion allows you to recover a certain amount of your daily losses. We should mention that cashback bonuses are actually nothing new – plenty of casinos have them. And this one is fairly standard, too. It recovers 5% of said daily losses back to your account. There is no mention of the maximum you can get from the bonus. But you should know that the cash out limit applies, as per the Terms and Conditions of the casino. Furthermore, the house has a very relaxed wagering requirement for the promotion. You need to play through it just 3x to withdraw your recovered funds. Cashback bonuses generally have such lower requirements, and it's great to see that's the case here, too.
- The single deposit bonus with Spades Queen you can get on a regular basis is the Weekly Queen's Mystery. Once you cash in $20 and select the bonus, you will be given a mystery box. It can either contain bonus cash – up to $2000, or different amounts of Free Spins, up to a maximum of 100 Spins. Since the minimum amounts you can get are $10 or 10 Spins, you will always get your money's worth. However, we would have liked to see the weighting on the different reward tiers of the box. On another note, there's a very generous wagering requirement of just 10x the bonus that players need to comply with. We find that to be excellent!
- One of the best promotions with the casino is the Queen's Challenges. It consists of different tasks you can complete for various rewards. The rewards total over $900 and 2000 Free Spins. So even though they start off slow, at 5 Spins per task, they do ramp up. The Spins and Bonus cash you can get that way can be withdrawn, too, which is excellent. To cash it out, you need to clear the 40x wagering requirement. Also, each bonus gets a separate cash out limit, which is great. The way to unlock more challenges, and consequently, more rewards, is to progress through the Loyalty program, which we will outline next. Every time you do so, you will be able to get six new challenges. This will not remove the previous tasks from your pool of challenges, though, so don't worry about losing out on them.
- Finally, the Loyalty program is a rewarding incentive to stick with Spades Queen. When you deposit and bet, you will gain experience. This experience will serve as a way to progress through the ten ranks of the casinos' loyalty program. And with each rank you will not only earn more challenges, as we mentioned before, but also exclusive account perks. The highest tier of this promotion is said to offer a personal account manager, for instance! Spades Queen also promises a lot more in terms of personalized bonuses, and so on. The program has one small issue – that being, the casino does not actually tell you how much you have left until you reach the next level. Also, it is not made clear how much experience each deposit will earn you. Both of these are issues that can easily be fixed, though. If they are, the house will be able to offer a truly amazing and rewarding VIP program!
License
When it comes to regulation, Spades Queen meets our expectations completely. We mentioned that the casino is run by a respected operator, called Dama N.V.. Here's the house stating as much on its website:
Annoyingly enough, the casino has made the text in the previous screenshot quite illegible. However, what it does say is that Spades Queen is run by Dama N.V.. Then, it claims that the operator is licensed by the Antillephone – one of the four master license issuers in the small Carribean nation of Curacao. They are the most popular jurisdictions for casino operators nowadays, and that's because of the unique balance they have managed to strike between the interests of the players and those of the casino operators.
However, how can we know that Spades Queen is actually tied to this operator? Well, here is the license of the casino:
It clearly shows that not only is Dama N.V. licensed, but Spades Queen is also operated by it. But what does that mean for the player? Well, licensed casinos can provide you with certain guarantees and protections. That is because they are required to follow the regulator's requirements. Here is what this entitles you, in terms of the Antillephone-mandated protections:
- Responsible Gambling: Regulators place a lot of focus on responsible gambling, and have rules about how casinos should do so, too. Among them is, for instance, the requirement for houses to offer their players sufficient information on what problem gambling can look like, as well as where to seek help. Additionally, the casinos licensed by the body also need to offer you self exclusion options. These option allow you to reduce your exposure to the casino by setting certain limits. For instance, on how much you can deposit. Or you could even take more drastic action if you feel like that's necessary and close your account down.
- Provably fair games: What does it mean for a game to be provably fair? It means that it is provided to the casino by a licensed Game supplier, which has undergone testing to ensue that the outcomes of its games are fair. Licensed casinos can generally only offer the games of such Suppliers. This means that you can be sure that the RTP ratios you see with Spades Queen are actually based in reality.
- Data safety: Players often overlook how much sensitive information they share with casinos. However, regulators are well-aware of just that. This is because they demand casinos collect it in the first place! They need to ensure that there's no money laundering or other financial crime going on in the houses they oversee. So, players need to be identified, and all sorts of personal and banking info need to be stored. With regulated casinos, you can be sure that all of that info will also be encrypted, so you don't have to worry about it leaking or being obtained by hackers!
As you can see, there are some excellent reasons to stick to licensed casinos. We generally find them better and more fun to deal with. However, back to our coverage of Spades Queen. Here's a list of the languages the website is available in:
Languages: English, German, Norwegian
And here is a list of the countries where the casino does not accept players from. This list is fairly long:
Restricted countries: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, American Samoa, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Antarctica, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Aruba, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Bouvet Island, British Indian Ocean Territory, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile, China, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Colombia, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (Kinshasa), Cook Islands, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Curaçao, Czech Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Falkland Islands, Faroe Islands, Fiji, France, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Gabon, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guam, Guatemala, Guernsey, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Heard and McDonald Islands, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Isle of Man, Israel, Jamaica, Jersey, Jordan, Kenya, Kiribati, Korea, North, Korea, South, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Macau, Macedonia, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Marshall Islands, Martinique, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mayotte, Mexico, Micronesia, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Montserrat, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Nauru, Nepal, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, New Caledonia, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Niue, Norfolk Island, Northern Mariana Islands, Oman, Pakistan, Palau, Palestine, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Pitcairn, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Reunion, Romania, Rwanda, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Helena, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Martin (French part), Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Samoa, San Marino, Sao Tome and Principe, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Sint Maarten (Dutch part), Slovakia, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, South Sudan, Spain, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Svalbard and Jan Mayen Islands, Swaziland, Sweden, Syria, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tokelau, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, United States Minor Outlying Islands, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Vatican City, Venezuela, Vietnam, Virgin Islands, British, Virgin Islands, U.S., Wallis and Futuna Islands, Western Sahara, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Åland
Deposit and Withdrawal
There is a list of the payment methods with the casino which includes a ton of options. But once we made an account we found that there were not that many means of cashing in. No matter which of the supported currencies we tried, certain payment methods were just unavailable.
This means that you can only use the following several deposit methods:
Deposit method | Minimum | Maximum | Processing time | Fee |
Credit/Debit Card | $20 | $4000 | Instant | - |
MiFinity | $20 | $4000 | Instant | Free |
AstroPay | $10 | $500 | Instant | Free |
EcoPayz | $20 | $4000 | Instant | Free |
Bank | $20 | $4000 | Instant | Free |
Crypto | $5 | Unspecified | Instant | Free |
And here are the account currencies with the casino, too:
Currencies: Euro (EUR), Australian Dollar (AUD), US Dollar (USD), Canadian Dollar (CAD), New Zealand Dollar (NZD), Norwegian Krone (NOK), Russian Ruble (RUB), Japanese Yen (JPY), South African Rand (ZAR), Brazilian Real (BRL), Binance Coin (BNB), Cardano (ADA)
This is actually a fair enough range, but we wish Spades Queen didn't lie about having more options for its players to pick from. The minimum deposit is said to be $20 in the Terms and Conditions, but some of the payment methods had it listed at lower amounts on the Cashier screen. We have no clue what the reason is for that discrepancy. Of course, $20 is not a bad asking price. That's actually what most casinos have as their entry cost requirements nowadays.
There are no deposit fees, which is fairly standard with online casinos nowadays. They don't tend to have such extra charges in place for their players. However, you should be aware that if there are any fees by the payment provider, it will be up to the player to cover them. This is how the vast majority of casinos nowadays handle them, too, though!
Let's also take a look at the withdrawal conditions:
Withdrawal method | Minimum | Maximum | Processing time | Fee |
MiFinity | $20 | $2700 | up to 3 days | Free |
Bank | $100 | $4000 | up to 3 days | Free |
EcoPayz | $20 | $4000 | up to 3 days | Free |
Crypto | $20 | $4000 | up to 3 days | Free |
Please note that if you want to cash out, you will be expected to clear a certain wagering requirement. That is set to 3x your deposits. Such clauses might seem strange and off-putting, but the vast majority of casinos nowadays have them in their Terms and Conditions.
As for the actual withdrawal conditions, they are pretty decent with a single exception. The minimum is set to $20 for most payment method, with the exception of bank transfers. If you want to use those, you will have to pay $100. We have seen other casinos set their minimum cash outs at lower amounts for bank transfers.
The maximums amounts you see above are per transaction. We should also mention there's a daily withdrawal limit of $5000, which is fair enough. And the processing times are also decent. They are up to 3 days, as they are with most casinos.
Overall, we don't have much to complain about when it comes to the withdrawal conditions of the casino. There is no need to worry about having to pay fees to the casino either, because it does not charge them, but third party fees will still be something you have to cover. Again, this is pretty much the norm with online casinos nowadays. In fat, the only fee by this casino is the following penalty for inactive accounts:
Once again, this is a fairly standard clause. And the size of the dormant account fee is nothing excessive either, in our view.
Games and Game Suppliers
Here is a list of the Game Suppliers you can see on the house's website:
Game providers: PragmaticPlay, Play'n GO, Push Gaming, BGaming, Betsoft, Booming Games, Relax Gaming, 1spin4win, 3 Oaks, 5 Men, 7Mojos, Absolute Live Gaming, Amatic, Amigo Gaming, Atmosfera, Atomic Slot Lab, AvatarUX, Bang Bang Games, Belatra, Beterlive, Big Time Gaming, Blue Guru Games, Blueprint, Boomerang Studios, Bulletproof, Candlebets, EAgaming, Electric Elephant, ELK, Evolution, Endorphina, Ezugi, Fantasma, Fazi, Four Leaf Gaming, GameArt, Gamebeat, Games Inc, Games Lab, Gamevy, Gaming Corps, Gamomat, Gamzix, Givme, Golden Hero, Golden Rock Studios, Habanero, Hacksaw, High 5 Games, Iron Dog Studio, KA Gaming, Kalamba, Kiron, Leap-Gaming, Lucky, LuckyStreak, Mancala, Mascot, Max Win Gaming, Merkur, MPlay, Mr Slotty, Authentic Gaming, NetGame, Nolimit, Northern Lights, Nucleus, Onlyplay, Oryx, Petersons, PGSoft, Platipus, Playson, Playtech, Popiplay, Games Global, Quickfire, Red Tiger Gaming, Reel Life Games, Reevo, Reflex Gaming, Retro Gaming, Revolver Gaming, RubyPlay, Skywind, Slotmill, Smartsoft Gaming, Spade Gaming, Spearhead, Spribe, Swintt, CT Interactive, Thunderkick, TrueLab, Turbogames, Vibra Gaming, Wazdan, Win Fast, Wizard, Yggdrasil, Zillion, Tom Horn, Other
Overall, this is more than enough Suppliers in our view! Most casinos nowadays barely manage to launch with 50 or so. But this one far surpasses this amount. As a result, its Games library says that it features over 10 000 games. Let's take a look at what those said games are:
- Slots: Nearly all of the games with this casino are Slots. However, they are not well-organized at all. You can play classics like Big Bass Bonanza, Book of Dead, Wolf's Gold, Book of Rebirth, Sweet Bonanza and so on. But there is barely any way to filter them at all. Instead, you have to sift through the thousands of games, which is annoying.
- Table Games: There is a great selection of Table Games. Baccarat, Poker, Blackjack, Roulettes are some of the emblematic options available here. There are both live and virtual dealer versions of the games to play, too, which is excellent. Disappointingly enough, there are no Game Shows in the live games section of the casino, though.
- Instant win games: This section mainly contains scratch ticket games. It does not seem to feature Crash games, which is also a bit of a letdown.
As for the Sportsbook with Spades Queen, it is pretty good. There is a great number of markets, from Football and Cricket to less popular sports like Darts and Badminton. Live and pre-match betting are both available, too, which is great. You can even find a couple of esports to bet on, too!
Conclusion
Overall, Spades Queen is a decent enough casino, but it didn't manage to impress us. We actually expected a bit more in terms of its bonuses. Also, we don't like how the house misleads players about its deposit methods. We would have liked more clarity about them. Overall, if the house were run by anyone other than Dama N.V., we would not have such high expectations. But given the company behind it, we cannot help but feel let down by Spades Queen!
