Cryptowins review: Scam or safe?

Cryptowins review: Scam or safe?

Nowadays, if you are a crypto enthusiast who is looking to play casino games, you have a lot of options. Indeed, most casinos accept cryptocurrencies as a means of deposit, but there are even houses which only allow their players to cash in with them. Some even let you play directly with the tokens you have deposited. The house we would like to cover in the following article is one such crypto-focused casino.

It is called Cryptowins and has recently launched. It scored some points with us immediately when we first opened its website, because said website was very simple and accessible. However, we realized that this was not owed so much to the house seeking to make its website user-friendly as it was due to the lack of content there. There are barely any games to play here, and what promotions are available are few and seemingly far between.

We cannot fault the house for not offering as many games as some of the bigger casinos out there nowadays, but it does make it uncompetitive. What we can fault Cryptowins for, though, is the lack of a license, as it has not managed to obtain the approval of any regulatory body. This does not mean the house is shady at all, and most crypto-focused casino are also not licensed, but the player will not be able to benefit from certain protections they can otherwise expect.

Overall, there is a lot to cover with Cryptowins, so let's give it the full review it deserves, starting off with its bonuses:

Bonuses

There is a package of Welcome bonuses available with this casino, as well as a couple of Recurring promotions. Let's take a look at what those look like:

BonusMin depositMax bonusWagering requirementsCash out limit
First deposit bonus5 USDT77% up to 30000 USDT35x30000 USDT
Second deposit bonus5 USDT107% up to 30000 USDT35x30000 USDT
Third deposit bonus5 USDT127% up to 30000 USDT35x30000 USDT
High limit welcome offer1000 USDT177% up to 30000 USDT35xUnspecified
Cashback bonus-7%1xUnspecified
Weekly reloads50 USDT77% up to 462 USDT35xUnspecified

Let's start with the four promotions which cover the initial deposits with the casino. They have a couple of things in common we would like to mention before examining each promotion by itself. So, firstly, there is a minimum deposit requirement of just 5 USDT for three of the bonuses, or its equivalent in any of the other cryptos the casino accepts. This is exceptionally low, because most other houses demand you cash in around 10 to 20 USDT to obtain a similar promotion. The fourth bonus requires a higher entry cost, as it is aimed at high-rollers.

Secondly, the maximum bonus amount is said to be up to 1 BTC per each bonus, but that is not actually the case. There is a maximum of 30 000 USDT per bonus. The prices of crypto fluctuate so wildly that 1 BTC might have been worth around this much when the promotion was being made, but now it is worth about 30% more. So, while it is great that Cryptowins has given the bonus a more stable value, its advertising is false.

Thirdly, the wagering requirement for any of the four promotions is 35x. Wagering requirements are commonly found within each casino nowadays and represent the amount of times you need to play through a bonus if you wish to withdraw it. Usually, for similar promotions they are anywhere in the range of 30x to 40x, so we can say that Cryptowins is fairly reasonable when it comes to that said requirement.

Finally, each of the four bonuses has its own cash out limit of 30 000 USDT. Cash out limits represent the maximum sum of money you can win from a casino, and are usually a fair bit higher than the maximum bonus. Of course, with this house, the maximum bonus is quite high too, but if you are a high-roller who can claim the entire bonus, you will have to wager it 35x so you can withdraw just the bonus you have received, which always feels bad. All of that said, let's go over the most significant aspects of the casino's services:

  • The First deposit bonus grants you 77% of the amount of money you cash in initially with the casino. This multiplier is a bit curious, and most houses tend to offer more in terms of their initial deposit bonuses, generally around, or over 100%!
  • After the previous promotion is played through, you can claim the Second deposit bonus of the casino, which grants you 107% of whatever you cash in, a higher multiplier which is in line with the rest of casinos.
  • Cryptowins saves the best for last with its Third deposit bonus. This promotion nets the player up to 127% of their qualifying deposit. Additionally, if you have deposited at least 200 USDT by now, there is a 77 USDT chip which the casino will hand you out. What's interesting about this free chip is that Cryptowins does not mention whether it counts towards the maximum bonus amount or not, and we would not wager to speculate!
  • Finally, the High limit welcome offer consists of a bonus which can be claimed at any point over the course of the first five deposits you make with the casino. It grants you 177% of the qualifying deposit, which needs to be of 1000 USDT or more. We find it curious that the bonus is called what it is, given the fact it has the exact same maximum amount and cash out limit as the other thee promotions, but if you are a high-roller it makes for a nice additional bonus you can get.

Now, let's also go over the Recurring bonuses with the casino. At the time of writing, there are just two of them, which is quite disappointing. A robust set of recurring bonuses is what truly sets casinos apart from one another and what truly elevates them in the eyes of players. Still, here are the promotions which you can get:

  • Every week, the casino counts your losses and allows you to get back a certain percentage of them, between 3% and 7%. This is done via the Cashback bonus, which you can claim every seven days. It comes with a 1x wagering requirement and no maximum to the funds you can reclaim. However, reaching the higher percentages requires a comparatively high amount of net losses. For instance, to get the full 7% cashback, you need to lose at least 2500 USDT the previous week.
  • Next, there are Weekly reloads, which are deposit bonuses that you can also obtain twice, if you cash in on a Wednesday. To be able to do so, you need to have cashed in at least 50 USDT the previous week. There are two bonuses available, and you can get only one. The lower nets you 37% of deposits over 50 USDT, and the higher is of 77%, applicable to deposits over 200 USDT. These promotions have numerous issues. Firstly, the entry cost requirement is too high for what you are getting. For example, the maximum deposit amount, covered by the higher tier bonus is 600 USDT. 77% of that is just 462 USDT. Secondly, the cash out limit is not explained, if there is such a restriction.

Overall, Cryptowins would benefit from one or two more recurring bonuses which players can get over the course of the week, or a VIP program to reward them for sticking around and cashing in more and more with the house.

License

Here is what the casino has to say about who operates it:

Normally, the houses we cover point out not only the name of their parent companies, but also where they are run from and under what license. In fact, Cryptowins does not mention regulation at all on its website. This is pretty much just an admission that the house is not licensed. And, as we said at the start, the majority of crypto-focused casinos do not have licenses these days, but this means their players will find themselves lacking certain protections.

The different regulatory jurisdictions have different measures set to protect players, but we would like to point to the ones adopted by the four regulatory bodies in Curacao, because they are currently the most popular destination for casinos to obtain licenses in. The main reason for that is the unique balance that these four bodies have struck, between demanding protections for the player and not stifling their subjects from offering large bonuses and new and fun games you could play. Here are the protections you would have access to as a result of this balance:

  • Licensed houses are able to offer their players a guarantee that their games are fair and unbiased. This is owed to the fact that each license holder has to submit the random number generators in its games for audits. These audits are performed by impartial professionals, selected by the regulatory bodies so there is no conflict of interest possible. The auditors go over these generators and report on any differences between the supposed pay rates and the actual ones they find. That way, you can know you are playing actual games of chance!
  • Secondly, it is often overlooked how much personal data a player is expected to share with a casino and what that means. As part of the efforts to combat money laundering and other financial crime, licensed houses collect details about facts like who you are, where you live and what payment methods you use, as well as the source of your income. This information is very sensitive, and it falling in the wrong hands can seriously damage the player. That is why regulators demand that casinos under their oversight encrypt said data with state of the art security protocols!
  • Finally, there are also measures aimed at helping players who suspect they are developing a gambling addiction, by making sure they have access to sufficient information on what that kind of addiction can look like, as well as where to seek help for it. However, that is not all – you can directly reduce your exposure to the casino with self-exclusion measures. License holders need to offer those said measures, which can include setting custom deposit limits, opting in for time-out warnings, or even closing down your account, if you need to.

Overall, we much prefer to deal with licensed casinos over their unlicensed counterparts, and are not happy with the fact that Cryptowins is among the latter. But let's get back to our review. Here is the only language you can view the website of the house in:

Languages: English

And here are the countries from where you will not be able to sign up or use its services:

Restricted countries: American Samoa, United States, United States Minor Outlying Islands, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Deposit and Withdrawal

Depositing and withdrawing to and from Cryptowins is only possible via crypto. Given the name of the house, that is probably not surprising. And if you are a crypto enthusiasts, only digital assets being available is no big deal, but we don't like such exclusionary policies. We much prefer the crypto-focused casino we have covered which accept FIAT payments too, albeit at less favorable conditions. In general, we prefer houses which allow both types of methods to be used and offer a plethora of payment methods and currencies.

Still, the actual conditions here are not so bad. Here is what you need to know about the deposit policies of the house and the tokens it accepts:

Deposit methodMinimumMaximumProcessing timeFee
Crypto5 USDT30000 USDTInstantFree

Currencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Binance Coin (BNB)

The minimum deposit is exceptionally small, and we like that. It is set to 5 USDT, when the majority of casinos demand at least 10 USDT from their players. There is also a high maximum of 30 000 USDT, with no fees by the house.

However, you should know that any transaction on the blockchain will incur certain miner fees, which you will be required to pay. In essence, these are just third party charges and any casino nowadays will expect the player to cover them, so there is nothing new here. Now, let's also take a look at the withdrawal policies of the casino:

Withdrawal methodMinimumMaximumProcessing timeFee
Crypto25 USDTUnspecifiedUnspecifiedFree

In general, houses expect you to turn over your deposited funds a certain amount of times before cashing out, and this one is no exception. Failing to play through your deposits at least once means you will have to pay a 30% withdrawal fee, as a penalty. This common AML policy does not cause any concern.

The minimum withdrawal amount is 25 USDT, which is slightly higher than the average of 20 USDT with most casinos. What's more, it is also five times as much as the asking price for deposits, which we do not like at all! There is also the fact that the maximum withdrawal is not mentioned at all – we hope it matches the big maximum deposit amount!

The processing times for withdrawals are not mentioned, which is bothersome. Casinos tend to process payments at their own pace, and have their own internal policies which dictate how long that takes. We hope that Cryptowins will manage to send out your money in three days, but we would have liked to see how much time withdrawing usually takes! Additionally, what we said about miner fees applies here too, but if you have cleared the deposit wagering requirement, there are no fees by the casino.

There is, however, a set of clauses about inactive accounts which we are not fans of:

It dictates that the house will start deducting 5% of your account balance monthly after a year of inactivity. This is unacceptable. While such fees are sensible, they tend to be around 5 USDT per month at most, instead of a percentage of your account balance. Also, casinos do not tend to confiscate the money from inactive accounts, as you can see that Cryptowins does in the second clause. This is a rather unfair set of penalties for inactivity!

Games and Game Suppliers

The biggest issue with the house has to be its lack of games. There are way under 10 Game Suppliers listed on its website in total – here is who they are:

Game providers: Evolution, Felix Gaming, Rival, Vibra Gaming, Other

In general, casinos are expected to have partnered with at least 50 developers, even at their launch. Still, here's what you can play:

Slots: Instead of popular games like Big Bass Bonanza, Book of Dead, Wolf's Gold and more, you can play slots like 40 Pixels, 20 Boost Hot and so on smaller games which no-one has heard of. The slots library is not ordered by theme, or by the mechanics of the games, which makes it annoying to browse too.

Table Games: You can find around 20 tables where you can play Baccarat, Poker, Blackjack and Roulettes, but there are no live versions of the games. In general, there are no live games with the casino at all. This is very disappointing!

Keno: You can play Keno and a couple of other Lottery games as well, but there is not really enough variety here either.

Crash games: As with any other crypto casino, Cryptowins has a collection of crash games. But Aviator and Plinko, which we expected to see, were not present among these games. In total, the Crash games here are four: Football Manager, Goblin Run, Long Ball and Lucky Crumbling. We expected to see more of these fast-paced casino experiences!

Conclusion

Overall, Cryptowins is a casino which has very little to offer, in terms of bonuses, games and even payment methods. We believe you would have more fun with a more robust house, which can also provide some additional guarantees for the safety of your funds via its license. So, we recommend checking out our other reviews to find that!
